Drywall is not good enough for a basement finishing system… Why?

Drywall is one of the most common building products used in USA, and also a very cheap product. Drywall is made from gypsum and paper and also needs some kind of insulation or structural support. The 2×4 wood studs and fiberglass insulation are used in drywall, which is not good enough to give strength to the drywall. The above three materials are most commonly found in the entire residential building. This may be bad for you, if builders have used this in your building.

The name ‘drywall’ itself suggests that it is used when kept DRY. A basement is high moisture surrounding, which is not meant for drywall. When the porous foundation and ventilation ducts are heated, the outside air and moisture enter from the basement. Some other hazards for the basement are rainwater buildup, cracks in walls, leaky plumbing and seepage.

Now you must have understood why drywall is not good for your valued basement. It is beneficial for the outside wall in offices not in a basement. Now a question must have come to you on which material is best for basement right?

The matrix basement system is the solution, and it provides services with the composition of the waterproof, mold proof materials, Magnesium Oxide and non-organic methods to make a double sided structural panel that excludes the need for insulation of fiberglass, studs or drywall. The above panel is needed for all the basement walls.
